Blogging Tips: 12 things the experts wish they knew

“If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.”
-Isaac Newton-

It’s a quote that many of us have heard time and time again, but probably not one you would associate with blogging tips. Like many quotes, the more you hear them the more the meaning gets lost, a little like Chinese whispers, nevermind that the origin of this quote can be traced back to 1159AD some 500 years before Newton.

Regardless of who said it, the meaning remains the same. We use the understanding and lessons learned by those who have gone before us in order to make meaningful progress.

I think it’s important where possible to learn from those who have done what we are trying to do. To paraphrase Gary Vaynerchuk; if someone who comes from where you come from or who looks like you, talks like you and has been where you stood, then you can do it too.

It is this philosophy that has not only served us well, but many other bloggers like us.

Regular listeners to the Podcast will know that there is one question that I am guaranteed to ask every guest.

“Give me one thing that you have learnt on your journey that you wish you knew when you started”

This question has been met with so many answers over the course of 50+ interviews that it is by far one of the most insightful parts of the show, for both me and the listeners and really does throw up the best blogging tips that bloggers of all levels can learn from.

I think it’s important to ask these questions, after all, who better to get blogging tips from than the ones who are out there day in day out making it happen. That’s why I  honestly make sure to ask every guest that question, I want to bring you guys real blogging tips and advice from successful bloggers who are really making a difference online.

Life is all about perspective, I genuinely believe that and to get the perspective of these successful bloggers about their journey is really interesting.

Rather than have you go and listen to all 50+ interviews (although I think you should lol). I’ve pulled out 12 of my favourite lessons from past guests, which will hopefully help you learn from their journey and give you some insight and perspective into your journey ahead.
